Jesus Christ was a real person who lived about 2,000 years ago. His life, death and rising from the dead are documented in the Bible books Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These books are known as the Gospels. His final days on earth and ascension back to heaven are in the Bible book, Acts.

Jesus Christ was a Jewish man, a rabbi, born about 2,000 years ago, around 4 B.C., in the region of Palestine. According to the Bible, Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. Hundreds of years before his birth, prophecies were recorded about his coming. Mary, a young virgin, was visited by the angel Gabriel during her betrothal year.
