Here’s how it works: First, you’ll need to connect the charger correctly (check instructions if required). Once that’s done, hit the “Battery Recondition” button! You can tell when this process has begun as all of these indicators will light up: clamps icon, battery icon, and recondition indicator.

The Everstart Maxx Battery Charger can do this! To do so hook up the battery charger to the battery using the leads. Once hooked up, hit the battery recondition indicator. After you hit the button a battery icon will appear with the words “Batt Recond”.

Connect the Everstart Maxx Battery charger to the terminals and set it to charge at a reduced current of 12 volts to 2 amps. Charging at a lower current breaks the lead sulfate crystals down with the Epsom salt mixture. Keep the charger in for 24-36 hours. Uncap the cells again because the electrolyte can overflow while you charge.

BATTERY RECONDITION Press to engage a 24-hour battery reconditioning cycle. This cycle will subject your battery to intermittent high-frequency pulses in order to reduce the effects of corrosion and recondition your battery. This is NOT guaranteed to ensure charging.

The reconditioning charger works hard to remove those sulfate crystal build-ups allowing your battery to hold a charge once again. This is done by sending alow frequency signal towards the sulfate crystals which then break them apart and help them dissolve completely. This is called cleaning your battery from the inside.
