Off the coast of Belize on the western rim of the Caribbean, Tropical Storm Nadine formed early Saturday but posed no threat to Texas.

Tropical Storm Nadine formed in the northwestern Caribbean Sea near Belize late Friday local time, becoming the 14th named storm of this year’s Atlantic hurricane season. It is expected to make landfall in Belize on Saturday.

An area of low pressure in the Atlantic has a 20 percent chance of reaching tropical cyclone strength in the next 48 hours.

The National Hurricane Center is currently tracking two areas, Tropical Storm Nadine and Invest 94-L. Neither is expected to impact Florida as high pressure in the state is expected to protect Florida from tropical activity through the end of the month.

WE DO HAVE AS OF THIS MORNING, TROPICAL STORM NADINE. THIS WAS AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE. WE’VE BEEN FOLLOWING FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS. THEY HAVE THE CIRCULATION AND IT’S EXPECTED TO MAKE LANDFALL OVER THE COAST OF BELIZE SOMETIME LATER THIS AFTERNOON.
