ADR shares could not rejoice in bulls despite Wipro announcing its first bonus issue after Covid-19 pandemic. The last bonus reward was in 2019. That being said, how much bonus reward will ADR investors get?

This is Wipro’s first bonus share issue since 2019, when it offered one bonus share for every three shares held. In total, Wipro has issued bonus shares 13 times in its history.

Wipro reported a 21% increase in net profit, reaching Rs 3,209 crore for the quarter ending in September, compared to Rs 2,646 crore in the same period last year.

The company announced a bonus issue of a 1:1 ratio, and the record date will be declared in due course. Wipro has a strong track record of paying bonus issues in over two decades.

This marks the fourth bonus issue for the information technology company since its listing, and the first in this decade.

Wipro's bonus issue of shares will be good news for retail shareholders. As of the September quarter, the company had 21.92 lakh small shareholders, those with authorised share capital of less than ₹2 lakh.

IT major Wipro on Thursday reported net income in the July-September period (Q2 FY25) at Rs 3,209 crore -- a 6.8 per cent quarterly growth and 21.3 per cent annual growth.

Wipro's net profit for Q2 FY25 rose 21.2% to Rs 3,208.8 crore. The company also announced a 1:1 bonus share. Revenue declined slightly.

The board of Wipro has also announced the issue of bonus shares in the ratio 1:1 for its shareholders. Record date for the said corporate action is yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, the company has reported a 21 per cent rise in the net profit for Q2FY25. Net profit of the company increased from Rs 2646 crore to Rs 3209 crore for the September quarter (YoY).

Shareholders with company shares in their demat accounts on the record date will receive an additional share as a bonus. The record date for this has not yet been announced.
