Wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat who is contesting on Congress ticket is leading in Julana Constituency, as per early trends.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was leading from his Ladwa seta in Kurukshetra district, while Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda was ahead of his rivals in Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency in Rohtak district.

A political party needs to win at least 46 seats in the 90-member Haryana Assembly to form a government in the state. Congress is leading on 47 seats and the BJP is ahead on 36 seats.

This election was held in three phases across September and October, marking the first assembly polls since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019, which altered the region's special status. Security has been ramped up with a multi-tier setup across district headquarters.

Banihal, a notified area committee, is one of the 90 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir. It falls under the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency and is largely a rural region. The seat went to polls on September 18 in the first phase of voting.

This time, Congress veteran Rao Dan Singh, BJP's Kunwar Singh Yadav and INLD's Surender Kaushik are in a three-way battle to woo the Jat and Ahir bastion.

In Haryana, exit polls have predicted Congress's return to power after 10 years, and rejected BJP's hopes for the third term. In the UT, exit polls indicate the probability of a hung assembly.

The district has six key assembly seats inclduing Prithla, Faridabad NT, Badkhal, Ballabgarh, Faridabad, and Tigaon.
