Tropical Storm Milton forms in Gulf of Mexico and could intensify to hurricane threatening Florida
MIAMI (AP) — Leslie has strengthened into a hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean and isn’t threatening land, forecasters said. The storm was located Saturday about 725 miles (1,170 kilometers) west-southwest of the southernmost Cabo Verde Islands and had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph). There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
Leslie strengthens back into a hurricane, NHC says
Oct 8 (Reuters) - Leslie has regained its strength into a hurricane, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Tuesday. The hurricane was located about 1,490 miles (2400 km) west-northwest of the southernmost Cabo Verde islands, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 km/h), the Miami based forecaster said.
