Sammy Hagar was on hand to induct the band Foreigner. Kelly Clarkson joined in for a performance of the band’s 1984 hit “ I Want to Know What Love Is ,” and Demi Lovato, Slash and drummer Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers played “ Feels Like the First Time ” (1977).

After becoming famous as a supreme soul-pop songbird with ’60s classics such as “Anyone Who Had a Heart,” “Walk on By” and “Do You Know the Way to San Jose,” the 83-year-old legend will be enshrined into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2024 includes Cher, Mary J. Blige, Kool & the Gang, the late Jimmy Buffett, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band and Dionne Warwick, among others.
