Following his trade to the Cleveland Browns, Deshaun Watson signed a five-year, $230 million contract with the team. What made this deal so unique (and risky) is that it’s fully guaranteed, meaning Watson got the most guaranteed money in NFL history.

Watson, who has been named in dozens of civil lawsuits on behalf of women alleging the quarterback sexually harassed or assaulted them, was suspended for the first 11 games of the 2022 season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy when he was with the Houston Texans.

The former Houston Texans and current Browns quarterback suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon during Sunday’s 21-14 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals and will miss the rest of the 2024 season.
