Another senior figure has departed OpenAI, warning that neither his former employer nor any other artificial intelligence company is adequately prepared for the development of artificial general intelligence.

Brundage's exit comes on the heels of several high-profile departures from OpenAI's safety teams, including Jan Leike and co-founder Ilya Sutskever. Leike left after raising concerns that "safety culture and processes have taken a backseat to shiny products.

The dissolution of the AGI Readiness team at OpenAI came to light after its senior advisor shared a substack post.

Mile Brundage, a senior policy advisor and head of the AGI Readiness team at OpenAI, is leaving the company and the team he oversaw will be disbanded.
