That means warm southern air will be driven into our area to give us a high temperature of 72 degrees before the cold front hits us with possible showers this evening around 7 p.m. Ahead of that cold front, winds will pick up with gusts around 25 mph. Get those rakes ready as we may need them soon.

Wednesday will be our coolest day of the week for highs; temperatures will ride slightly above average heading into the weekend.

The First Alert Weather Team says its partly sunny with a few showers moving inland this afternoon. It’ll be mainly dry this evening. It’s still breezy onshore winds. High risk of rip currents continue at our local beaches. Tidal flooding remains expected around the times of high tide along the St. Johns River.

We had another day of warmer than average temperatures on Tuesday, with highs pushing the upper 70s and lower 80s. The record for Tuesday’s date is 82 degrees set back in 1979, and some spots hit that number!

CBS News New York's Lonnie Quinn is calling for temperatures in the 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday and then we'll experience more seasonal conditions.

The clear and crisp start to the day will give way to a warm, sunny and dry afternoon. Highs will climb into the lower to middle 80s with east winds around 5 to 10 mph. Lows will again lower into the 50s overnight with a clear sky and light winds.

High pressure over the northeastern U.S. continues to keep the eastern half of the nation and the Mid-South dry. The dry pattern is also contributing to warmer temperatures during the day and this pattern will continue through the week.

Temperatures will top out in the 50s and low-60s for the rest of the week. Frost and freeze conditions will return starting Thursday morning.We will continue to have an elevated fire risk over the next few days with warmer weather and dry conditions.
