After almost a year of testimony, prosecutors in Atlanta rested their case against the two remaining defendants in a gang and racketeering trial that had included rapper Young Thug before he pleaded guilty.

Missing was the trial’s star defendant; Atlanta rapper Young Thug, one of four members of “Young Slime Life” who pleaded guilty during the lengthy trial. The two remaining defendants, Shannon Stillwell and Deamonte Kendrick, rejected plea offers after more than a week of negotiations. Both face murder and other charges.
YSL Trial: Prosecutors Finally Poised to Rest Case
Prosecutors also called on other witnesses, including Antonio Sumlin (Obama), who testified that he never viewed YSL as a gang, and Investigator Marissa Viverito, a gang analyst with the Atlanta Police Department.

Prosecution rests after nearly year-long case against YSL
On Tuesday afternoon, prosecutors said they had called of their witnesses and presented all of their evidence and would be resting their case against Stillwell and Kendrick. Judge Paige Reese Whitaker said she plans to resume the trial on Thursday as defense attorneys call their first witnesses.
