In an interview with Moneycontrol, Deepinder Goyal reflected on Zomato’s position in India’s rapidly growing food delivery and quick commerce sectors, particularly in light of Swiggy's upcoming $1.25 billion IPO.

The Zomato chief also touched on his company’s rivalry with Swiggy, recalling the moment in 2018 when Swiggy raised $1 billion in a funding round while Zomato was sitting on just $35 million in the bank.

Kunal Bahl, co-founder of Snapdeal and Titan Capital, and the promoter of Unicommerce, is set to join Shark Tank India season 4. He will take the place of Deepinder Goyal, founder and CEO of Zomato, on the panel for the upcoming season.

Goyal, in an interview to Moneycontrol, said that navigating public markets is easier as companies get to think more long term and are not bound by weekly reviews by VCs
