TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tropical Storm Oscar moves through the central and southeastern Bahamas, the National Hurricane Center said. Located about 70 miles east-southeast of Long Island in the Bahamas, Oscar’s center is expected to move near the southeastern and central Bahamas today.

Tropical Storm Oscar is expected to move near the southeastern and central Bahamas Tuesday, according to the National Hurricane Center.

"We suspect there will be another attempt for a tropical depression or tropical storm to brew in the western Caribbean during the middle to the latter part of next week," said Bernie Rayno, AccuWeather chief on-air meteorologist. The next named storms of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season will be Patty and Rafael.
