Hera launched Oct. 7 atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, on a mission to study the asteroid that NASA's DART spacecraft smashed into in September 2022.

SpaceX has confirmed, and the Space Force and the Federal Aviation Administration state that the European Space Agency's Hera mission is scheduled to launch at 10:52 a.m. EDT from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40. The launch will follow a southeast trajectory, therefore those south of Brevard may get a good view.
