Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” at the rally ahead of Trump’s speech, forcing the campaign to go into damage control and condemn the remarks. But Trump hasn’t personally commented or posted any such condemnation on his Truth Social page, and the fallout is growing.

A flippant “joke” about Puerto Rico told by a crude comedian at former President Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally has not changed any votes in the battleground of Pennsylvania despite hours of anti-Trump media and Harris campaign attacks.

The former president made the claim at a round-table discussion in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, days after a comic disparaged Puerto Rico during Sunday’s Trump rally in New York.
