The vote, hours after Boeing reported a $6.1 billion loss, will extend a monthlong strike at factories where the company makes its best-selling commercial plane.

Boeing machinists on Wednesday voted to reject a new labor contract proposal and continue a costly weekslong strike that halted production of some of the embattled company's top-selling planes, resulting in furloughs and layoff announcements for thousands of workers.

Boeing’s (BA) more than month-long machinist strike is not over. Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the union representing the striking employees, on Wednesday voted down a contract that offered a 35% raise and was an improved version of the troubled plane maker’s “best and final offer” for a 30% bump.
