On the hiring front, Infosys said it plans to hire between 15,000 to 20,000 freshers in fiscal year 2025, while Wipro said it plans to onboard between 2,500-3,000 freshers every quarter this fiscal.

Infosys Ltd, India's second-largest IT services exporter, on Thursday reported a near 5 per cent rise in its second quarter net profit and raised revenue guidance for the year on broad based recovery in demand particularly from its key financial industry clients.

Infosys Ltd has reported a nearly 5% increase in net profit for Q2, driven by strong demand in the financial sector. The company raised its revenue forecast for 2024-25 and added 2,500 net employees.

Infosys posted revenue from operations at Rs 40,986 crore, up 5.1 per cent as against Rs 38,994 crore recorded during the same period of previous financial year.

Infosys has posted a 2.2% sequential rise in its net profit for the second quarter of FY25 at ₹6,506 crore. However, the number was below market expectations. The company's revenue for the July-September quarter also witnessed a strong 4.

Analysts had expected that a ramp-up of large deals, increasing traction in generative AI initiatives, and cost optimisations would drive revenue and margin growth for the Indian IT major.
