Commuter rail workers rallied at South Station on Wednesday during the morning commute to call for wage increases and a new contract with Keolis, which operates the rail system for the MBTA .

Demands include wage increases, lower costs for health care and health insurance, and the ability to take sick time and take days off.

Elected officials joined in solidarity with roughly 100 commuter rail workers as they sought to apply pressure on Keolis Commuter Services, which operates 14 rail lines in Greater Boston and Rhode Island.
