Audi is giving its new Q6 e-tron, which we went to test drive in Spain earlier this year, the fastback-type, or Sportback, treatment. This isn’t a surprise, because Audi already markets coupe-style versions of its two other all-electric SUVs, the Q4 e-tron and the Q8 e-tron. The Q6 Sportback e-tron should arrive sometime next year.

Audi has yet to announce acceleration figures, but we do know that the regular Q6 Sportback e-tron delivers 422 horsepower in normal operation (up to 456 hp during launch control) and can reach a top speed of 130 mph.

Audi is expanding its electric model portfolio with the Q6 Sportback e-tron, one of the most popular body designs among customers. The powerful and iconic SUV design typical of Audi in the Q6 SUV e-tron is complemented by the essence of a Sportback’s features.

The Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron offers two battery options, with ranges of up to 656 km and 545 km. The performance variant reaches 0-100 kmph in 4.3 seconds. It features an 800-volt system for quick charging and a five-star safety rating.

The 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron electric compact crossover is due in U.S. showrooms later this year, and will be joined next year by a more dynamically styled Q6 Sportback E-Tron that Audi revealed on Monday at the 2024 Paris auto show in both Q6 E-Tron and sportier SQ6 E-Tron guises.

While still to be announced for South Africa, the standard Q6 being under consideration could well result in the Sportback being approved sometime in 2025 or even 2026.

With five model variations now available, the Q6 Sportback E-tron quattro and SQ6 Sportback E-tron will launch in the latter half of 2025, boasting top speeds of 130 mph and 143 mph, along with an estimated range of 300 miles.
