Made long trip out to the grotto only to discover on arrival that there were no sailings due to wind conditions Would have been helpful to know that before making the journey, perhaps the circular t… Full review by William E

Anybody thinking of going today don’t bother as the boats aren’t running. Long sweaty bus ride from Valletta took an hour instead of the estimated 40mins Full review by Global67404428090

The Blue Grotto in Zurrieq offers stunning views of the sea and cliffs, and the boat ride through the caves is picturesque. However, it was crowded, and the visit felt rushed. Worth seeing for the na… Full review by Aidan R
Hi, We have a family of 6, 4 adults and 2 kids under 4 and we will be arriving by cruise ship around 1 pm on November 27, 2019. I am looking for a boat tour to the Blue Lagoon in the afternoon. Do you know of any tour for early or late afternoon? Such as sunset tour? Thanks.

You can easily take a taxi to the blue grotto if there are no organised tours from your ship or separately. Several taxis are big enough for your group, though they'll need to wait for you while you do the boat trip – allow half an hour and get a quote off the taxi driver first. However, a late afternoon trip may not work if your ship is not going to be in the harbour through the evening / overnight - ours needed everyone back on board by 17:30 and boarding a lot of people takes quite a time if its a big boat, plus the traffic in and out of Valletta is dreadful so getting back could be very slow and risk arriving back at the ship too late.
Hi, is it only one company that provides boat tours to the Blue Grotto? Read quite a few bad reviews and would prefer not to be rushed or deal with rude owner

This was a great, not to be missed experience. Only one company as far as I know. The boats are small (6 passengers only) and our skipper was very friendly and informative. The staff organising the queue and people are very firm as some try to push in. The water is deep and it was quite choppy when we went so safety is paramount and you must therefore accept a certain amount of staff taking control of people. You will also need to wear a safety jacket. The rock formations are truly amazing and the boat trip exciting and well worth 8€.
Could anyone tell me the best way to travel here from Sliema please? We are only in Malta from a short time so would like the quickest, cheapest option.

Get a taxi as this is the quickest way. Bus will take too long
