Once you get into diamond you start to get matches with any rank from diamond-Unreal, so I would consider that to be "High Ranked". plat usually has 97 bad players and 1-3 good players who dont play this game often but used to play back in the days.

WEBSep 26, 2021 · So it sure is possible that you get stomped on by someone who is better, but the general distance between the two ranks isn't any different. There is a difference between being consistent plat and being a gold 3 who hit platinum a few times though. They are 2 ranks apart, probably 15-50 hours worth of grinding.

WEBThat doesn't say anything though, you have to look at top percent, not player base percentage. In that top percent case, plat 1 players are in the top 10% of players, plat 3 players are in the top 5%. Plat on average is top 6%. So in the grand scheme of things it is a decent rank, yes.

WEBJan 27, 2022 · Is it even possible to demote put of plat 1 and is there even any downside to it? Afaik there are no rewards for finishing the season at the highest rank, right? Yes, you can demote from plat 1 after some loses, and you'll need to grind like 4 wins to get back to it. The downside, we don't know yet, it's first season, there might be rewards?
