WEBSep 27, 2022 · The main reason to trust developers on Steam over those on Itch.io is that to get on Steam you at least have to spend $100 for Steam direct, while on Itch you pay 0$. So I think the insecurity problem on Itch.io is probably fundamental to the idea of Itch.io, that is a completely open marketplace for indies to post and play games.

WEBNov 7, 2022 · I think itch is a great place for those starting out in game dev but I'd wager it's worth utilizing even if you're an established developer. There are plenty of folks who prefer to keep their games libraries away from Steam and itch.io is one such place.
