WEBMar 15, 2020 · The OEM glock barrels are plenty accurate enough for social work, and even in long rang playtime, and for hunting as well. The 180/200 gr XTP, works well with the data also. I do not use 220gr in 10mm, as we have found it "does not stabilize," as well as the 200gr WFN, especially in a HC bullet.

The 180gr round has things going for it including being popular but the bottom line is the lighter weights seem to be the best fight stoppers.

Bought the Lee mold in 175 gr flavor. Looks similar to the design that works so well in my .45 colt. Started working up some loads and did around 50.

Upon doing some recent research on the issue it seems that the modern consensus is that lead and especially hard cast is ok in Glock barrels so long as you clean it a little more often. Hickok45 shoots lead in his Glock barrels for one. Also buffalo bore says its ok.

WEBAug 6, 2015 · You must distinguish between "soft swaged lead" and "hard cast lead" bullets. Absolutely under no circumstances should "soft swaged lead" bullets be fired in a stock Glock barrel. That is a disaster waiting to happen. Hard cast lead bullets, driven to a reasonable velocity are a completely different story.

I did not come away with the impression that a stock glock barrel will not stabilize all lead bullets. This video should clear up whether or not OEM Glock barrels can stabilize 220gr and 200gr hard cast lead.

WEBMar 8, 2019 · Underwood, Buffalo bore, Corbon and others offer this type for big game. Underwood even further coats some of the hard cast bullets. They will not blow up your gun. Underwood ammo is stout but not overly so. I personally choose the penetrator or hunter type bullets for “Woods” use. Applies to .40 or 10m.
